0h WOrd ??!!!! North Korea attacks South Korea! War Video Games Perdicting Future ?!

The video speaks for itself. We all have played those Call of Duty and Ghost Recon console games. Perhaps you recall during some of the story lines in these video game franchises where you end up going to fight North Korea or Russia which in-game often takes place sometime in the near future(say 2015 or so give or take). I don't want to state the obvious, but to some this might not be; the new TSA scans and this attack from North Korea on South Korea -- New World Order anyone ?

Mixtape Review : Joe Budden - Mood Muzik 4: A turn for the worst !

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
"Mood Muzik 4: A Turn 4 The Worst is the 4th and latest installment to the Mood Muzik series by rapper Joe Budden." - Wikipedia

Some would agree, Joe Budden has taken his share of public L's(means loses). L's ranging from issues with his ex-girlfriend Tairy to rumors of him being an emo with bipolar. It also seems he survived criticism, in addition to violent attacks by other artist(of whom I won't be promoting). Point is, you can understand why this is his fourth, yes fourth Mood Muzik mixtape and is the reason why I decided to give him an ear(Something I rarely do. I don't even listen to mixtapes often).

Now, I don't care what anyone says. Joe Budden is a great hip hop artist. Not only that, he is far beyond just an hip hop artist. Joe Budden is also a great lyricist unfortunately for him this article isn't about his past accomplishments or social recognition conjured up by his effective usage Hip Hop's musical culture. On to the review of Joe Budden Mood Muzik 4 mixtape. Of course I didn't listen to the whole thing, you crazy ? It's seventeen tracks of..well I only listened to the initial four. First impressions last right ? ;-P

The mixtape isn't anything special in the sense that we can't refer to it as an "album"(judging from the first four tracks). Though, it does have an air of honesty something that is lacked today in the hip hop genre amongst all the diverse marketing schemes of the industry. However, Joe Budden avoids the cliches of gangsta life which fails to be embeded into the contents of this mixtape which contains a collection of psychosocial based subject matter. For example, Track 3 - Role Reversal seems to be about his conflicts with his baby mother and step son. Social conflicts of not being able to see his children amongst other things.

Overall, it's a pretty decent mixtape from what I've listened to. It comes equipped with a pretty neat mixtape cover with proper lighting and shadows. Mood Muzik 4's cover design matches the theme of the title, in addition the musical subject matter stays true to the theme of the tape. For the most part while listening to the tracks you can easily identify that he enjoys a stressful mixtaped lifestyle.

For all you underground rappers looking to build a fanbase before I release another how to release a successful mixtape article take a look at how Joe Budden marketed this mixtape:

Immortal Techique DEAD ?!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Felipe Andres Coronel (February 19, 1978), better known by the stage name Immortal Technique, was a Peruvian rapper, and an urban activist.  - Wikipedia

Rumor has it Immortal Technique died due to the injuries of fatal car accident. It came to our attention via my Twitter time line. This comes as a shock to the underground hip hop community for Immortal Technique was/is (Not sure which one to put) known for his lyricism and geo-political musical content, in addition to his revolutionary rap style.

Two issues I would like to press on:

1. Immortal Technique being the great lyricist that he is/was(again, don't know which one to use)with the pack comes a school of dick riders. People that said to me amongst others, "How you going to spread a rumor ?" My man, how the hell should I know it was a rumor. We all for the most part are internet users. Your ears aren't to the streets. Y'all know y'all are appear of whom the hell spread that rumor, but y'all also know that person probably has blackball power or is a gangsta named "Ziploc Bodybag" and got you guys shook. So stop the threats of net-reciprocations.

2. Stop calling DJ's, rappers and other people out that spread this news over Twitter. You know when you see these same people at the showcases you shake hands and tell them how you don't want to get slapped because your daughter is in the backseat of the Civic. Like Bill Cosby said, "Come on, people". Most the people doing this are the "real hip hop heads". If you are so real hip hop and against the Illuminati, why you trying so hard to get signed to a major label ?! I think we got a hater in a revolutionary jacket.

Fabolous vs Soulja Boy ? SMH! That train's never late!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Def Jam recording artist Fabolous(right) has dissed Interscope Records recording artist Soulja Boy(left) while spitting a freestyle on Funkmaster Flex's radio show.

Quoting the line said by Fabolous, "Pretty boy swag, but I never choked by noise though"
Referring to a Kat Stacks'(infamous video vixen) video taping of Soulja Boy's hotel room. A video of which contained footage of a white powdery substance that could have possibly been cocaine.

Now, of course. First I will give the public's take on events before I go into my personal point of view of this situation at hand. Below are various Tweets of interest -- if you will. These tweets will give you a fly-on-wall's eye view insight into the situation:

@Nu_Change tweeted:
Fab Was once famous, but didn't get no where! So he pickin on a young man @SouljaBoy who continues to rise up! STOP DREAMIN FAB About a dude

@iHateKatStacks tweeted:
U called @worldstar crying @myfabolouslife to mute ur number while @souljaboy let it ride ! #RealRecognizeReal

@kushbmycologne tweeted:
@SouljaBoy Fab just wanna whip da lambo!! & give up da lame n ask you to lend some fame

@ZakiZakx tweeted:
@SouljaBoy half the age, double the fame fabo needs yo buzz. dont give it souljaaaa. UK yo international, fabo domestic xoxox

Pay special attention this next one:

@SSwweeetness tweeted:
@SouljaBoy fab is just that nigga they beat up and robbed everytime he went back to the hood tryna act like he hard. Trustme I'mfrombklyn.

Since you, the Yababa World citizen has gotten somewhat of "broad" spectrum of the situation at hand. I believe it's time for us to look at it through the window of a previous article written by me. Yeah, you know where I am going with this don't you? You remember the article entitled "Why Soulja Boy is part of Hip Hop culture PART 1" ? Sure you do, and since you do remember it all I will say is, "Told you so".

I am naturally a neutral party seeing my position in the world of investigative journalism if you will, yet can we please stop the Willie Lynchism black folks ? I would state my opinion, but I will leave it to the citizens of Yababa World. I welcome you to drop your comments and please give us your personal take on this situation.

Boxing vs MMA ?! UFC 118: Couture vs Toney

            Many of the citizens of Yababa World™ have heard this argument for a while. You have boxing fans with their technical fight science discussions talking about how the jab is the boxers most lethal weapon alongside head movement and footwork.

           Then their is the MMA fans with their "I KNOW BJJ GRR" with talk of this  "ground game" that sure seem that they know everything about fighting maybe it's the hype, yet the veterans sure do have their heads on right when it comes down to take downs. Take Randy Couture for example. He has marvelous taken downs -- instant sweeps that can put the most muscular and heaviest person on their back.

           We aren't looking to give a full featured preview on the upcoming fight today, but be aware that this is a clash of two of the biggest combat sports today, Boxing vs MMA. MMA has their ground game use of both striking and grappling. Diverse techniques which are combined and compiled to end your opponents swiftly.

     On the other hand you have boxing -- smooth slips, swift footwork(swift enough to avoid taken downs) sharp uppercuts, but is it limited compared to MMA? Only way to find out is by watching the fight tonight and by subscribing to the blog via RSS.  Leave comments on your prediction about whom you think will win. Also if you aren't looking to pay to watch the event follow us on Twitter to receive the link to a free stream of the event.

The Adjustment Bureau Trailier - Starring Matt Damon [HD] - illuminati much ?!

    @AndyBonHelsing1 from YouTube commented that this movie is about or similar to the Patriots from The Metal Gear Solid video game series. We doubt it is about the mysterious group The Patriots from the Metal Gear Solid series, but is rather similar, not to take anything way from his implication.

      Also, nothing anyone says can take away from the exciting trailer which includes expected well sequence editing and compilation. Something you see in almost every Hollywood trailer -- it's only professional. Questions will arouse from this trailer since the movie itself is time relevant to the "illuminati" secret society video trend that has sprung across YouTube.

     Although it's just a movie, many would analyze it further because like most movies these days, this one definitely has a specific message.

  From what we heard here at Yababa World from an insider, is that the movie will be released in March of 2011.

Yababa World: This week's featured artist - Chedda Bang

We're back after a brief hiatus. Returning from this first hiatus we would like present to the citizens of Yababa World™ this week's featured artist. We don't know this fella personally, yet the first time we've seen him he was in a video collaboration with Matt Reeves entitled "All I Want Is You" where he displayed killer vocals.

In Chedda Bang's song "Church" he brings a unique approach to music to the table, something we here at Yababa World™ like to call "honesty". In this video, you see he is not trying to be "real hip hop" or "deep", but true with ones self. This honesty can be found within the originally as well as creative of this lyrically intriguing song, not to mention of the video.

Well, that's pretty much it -- we're back and expect plenty more frequently blog updates. So subscribe via RSS and keep checking back daily.

Why Soulja Boy is part of Hip Hop Culture ? PART 1

          Image and video hosting by TinyPic

        Yeah, you have seen the usage of the term “real hip hop” everywhere in the urban musical community(So much so, it should be an idiom by now). Larking in the darkness of shallow woods, is the pending checkpoint monster of “real hip hop” waiting for someone to make music deemed not 'real' so it can diss its prey into submission and feed the 'unreal' to the wolves. I already explained what real hip hop really is about in the article entitled “How to produce a successful mixtape ? [Basic Edition] Part1”, so I will digress into the topic of today's blog posting. Today's blog will discuss a very pressing issue with in the “ranking” system of Hip-Hip and draw a sharp conclusion on to why people like Soulja Boy are part of Hip Hop culture.
             In recorded history, Hip Hop culture arose in the 1970s  in The Bronx, New York City. Hip Hop culture possessed two lasting elements, the music & the artistic poetry(Recognition of the other elements go without question and will be discussed later in the article). Musicians such as Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa., & Grand Master Flash pioneered the art of Hip Hop with various presentations of which were branded  the title “Hip Hop” before any media recognition addressed  the rapidly growing “demographic” Hip Hop had created.  The sounds waves were booming with Hip Hop by 1981, but now in the 2010 have we forgotten where Hip Hop really got began to pick up ?

            Now down to the spectrum, Soulja boy at the youthful age of 20 he has amassed a net worth of more then a whooping $17,000,000. Gaining success with his independent single, “Crank That(Soulja Boy), which is to date is credited as the third highest downloaded song in the United States peaking over 3,000,000 downloads.  Granted, with success comes criticism, which can be constructive, socially bias, often times(Check Youtube™ comments) just down right hating.

          Now, I won't define 'hating' in this article for that will throw everything off topic. Fast forward summer 2010, you have noticed since Soulja Boi's debut in May of 2007 a strong atmospheric climate of Ha²+H²O(haterade) has be leaking into the lungs of various Hip Hop fans. Often times, these individuals would label themselves as a collective, “REAL HIP HOP HEADS”(which was briefly address in a previous article). Many of these individuals don't understand why Soulja Boi is part of Hip Hop culture, well I am here to answered that question once and for all.

             Soulja Boy is labeled often times retro trendy, maybe a small inspiration for the hi-beam colorized outfits of the 2000's which were adapted from 80's flavor fashion.  Retro is to refer to his old school style and trendy is for the trend of fashion of that particularly sub-era if you will. Now analyze  the death of the term “real hip hop” as those individuals passive aggressively put it:

Now let's see where this so called “PARTY RAP” comes from:

1981 - One the first Hip Hop groups form in Harlem Crash Crew
               Check out there song, entitled “We Want To Rock”.
1983 – Afrika Bambaataa releases “Looking for the Perfect Beat”.
Early 1990's – Tupac joins known “party rap” group Digital Underground.

       For those “black folks” that talk about Soulja Boi talking inappropriatelyy in his “Crank Dat” record, Check out Digital Undergrounds leader Shock G's song “Humpy Hump” which was contained lyrics of high sexual content back when music was rarely censored. But I guess since Shock G is “light skin”, he gets the pass ,right ?

Don't forget what term “Hip Hop” really means. Fore, 'hip' is what is stylish at a point in time and 'hop' is the movement(collective).

Don't forget about Keith Cowboy ….. He coined the term hip hop, back when it was referred to as disco rap and performed Electro, in addition to funk styles hip hop songs.

How to Produce a successful mixtape? [Basic Edition] PART 1

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Musicians, at one time most of us inspired to be one. Reasons to why vary greatly, though some reasons as to why are more common then others and often narrow down to a said deadly emotion commonly known as, desire. Desire to attract a comfortable social climate(the opposite sex), draw crowds, travel while being appreciated wherever you go, but most of all -- to matter. Many musicians & musical minds have attempted to reach goals, typically success, in the music industry with an estimated 95% failing to "get signed" without being dropped a few years later by the label of which molded the tragic musician into his failed image. Without a spark of hope to ignite a vision, these musicians become failures for a few reasons. I will name one obvious reason because no one has published an article like this one before.

Now, I should reveal to you, the reader, a confession from the heart. Musician is being used in this article as blanket terminology for rapper, commonly known as a Hip Hop artist. A position in the music industry that has warped into a narrow corridor of fast-pace lifestyle, shady record executives, abstract jargon of both legal and entertainment proportions. Those of whom are getting it(making the money) might say, "That's just a part of life". Well, I tell you to ask them, "If it's a part of life, why are you trying to bend it's element in the attempt to gain more profitability socially and economically. With that notation expressed, continue to read on with it stuck in the demist depths of your subconscious.

A multitude of digital cable channels under the umbrella of corporate management by mega labels broadcast a one dimensional way into the industry. Way in which consist of: hard work for 9 to 5 pay, rags to riches stories, glamor, etc. I advise not to blame what these channels display. In a later article I may tell you why. But for now let's begin to get down to the real spectrum.

Step 1: Generate a "buzz" & gain recognition!

The generation of a buzz is essential to the success of many marketing, advertising, or promotional campaign. Without buzz the product that is being marketed by the said entity, will drown in a pool of competition. As much as buzz is required for the success of a cleaning product, it also requires attention in the murky depths of underground hip-hop. Generating buzz be easy or difficult, all depends on your lifestyle & pass relationships with the public. Let's say you are a hip-hop recording artist starting on a good social reputation, but no one will listen to your material because everyone else in your area is on the same grind as you are. There are always ways to change this type of seemly harsh situation into a profitable venture:

a. Bring attention to the elephant!
- Be a problem solver. If an issue arises that concerns a decent number individuals, especially if they are your target audience. Make a song about it & make sure its followed by an HD music video. Solve the problem of inattentive behavior by those that have the ability to assist in finding a solution to the issue.

b. Establish a presence on forum!
- Forums are your gateway to potential fans. Joining an online forum populated by people that are open to new music, while also aren't expressing genre-bias community traits, a great way to generate online buzz. Simply by posting your web pages & contact information into your signature of your forum, in addition to a decent quality avatar photo should do the trick. Just remember to be frequent on the forum and engage in conversation. Be sure to select a forum with a centralized strong foreign and domestic presence.

c. Gain recognition!
- You can gain considerable recognition by creating thought provoking music of which others can related to on a human, as well as personal level. You want your potential audience to say, "Oh, shit. Her subject matter is crazy." Or think something like, "This video is the truth, it's so real". Try speaking on topic that you feel strongly about, like a hip hop group you used to enjoy that was plagued by a tragic split up etc. All & all, touch the hearts and souls of the audience as if you were speaking to an intimate person in your life.

Step 2: Know Your Audience!

a. - Getting to know your audience. Learn what type of demographic is listening to your music and cater to them as much as possible. Never listen to word of mouth unless is constructive criticism or you don't have the demographic statics to draw your own conclusion. This doesn't mean don't talk to your fans and ignore them. Train yourself to understand statics provided by YouTube™ Insight feature. It has all kinds of analytic statics for you to work with to see what is working and what is not.

b. - Know what type of audience you will be dealing with once you get those demographic statics from YouTube™ insight. Or you can simply identify them by the paying very close attention to the people message you with positive comments about your music. There are many types of audiences, but I will talk about two: The Fads and The Trends. The Fads are the only group of people only searching for a new hype, they are often given the blanket term hypebeast. Now, let me weigh the pros & cons of The Fads. They are good to cater to if you are looking to provide your music as a service to the listen(which is referred to as service income), in addition looking for fast money. Fast money can been large summons if you market your product efficiently. The cons are that this type of audience could lose interest really fast and are so silly brainwashed they will turn on to next artist that MTV, BET, or any other syndicated music television network says is the best alive( i.e. Lil Wayne v. Na; Eminem v. 50 cent).

c. - The Trends are my personal favorite, however they have their pros and cons as well. Pros of catering to The Trends are longevity, stability, loyalty, ect. With The Trends you are able to be yourself, and keep a strong loyal fan base. People that enjoy your music not because of the beat, but because of the words that bring emotion to the beat. With The Trends, you are promised long lasting love from them as long as you are consistent. The cons of them are going to challenge your loyalty to your fan base greatly & possibly you public image.

The Trends, have a very common syndrome I like to refer to as, "Real Hip-Hop Syndrome", RHHS for short. While trying to be loyal to The Trends you might run into a catch-22 since you might have to market yourself differently while market of different trends in the hip hop community begin to shift. In the event of you marketing yourself in a different light (i.e. conscious hip-hop to alternative hip-hop) you will find that your once "loyal" audience might criticize you for changing you style in order to create a bigger audience and put money in your pocket.

It happens all the time, especially when most of the people complaining never really liked your music in the first place. Just always remember, 'Real Hip-Hop' is a relative term of which is relative to perspective. You naturally have to watch which people are using it. It is usually people that are on the same grind as you, but not even selling material.
